Purpose: Manage the reliability function and its employees to ensure the desired output of work performed, in accordance with established Quality standards. Perform root cause failure analysis of failed field equipment in the region and provide final report with corrective actions for improvement that will extend run life of the equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Customarily and regularly manage direct reports to maximize productivity, efficiency, and the potential of reliability personnel.
- Provide regular and routine feedback and assessment on performance to each subordinate and provide recommendations for employee compensation, promotion, corrective action, termination actions, and hiring as appropriate
- Direct job assignments, monitoring staff performance, coaching, counseling, and training to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission, values, policies, and work rules
- Perform site evaluation, review operational data and conduct or oversee dismantle inspections of failed field equipment in a timely manner; assure all pertinent information has been gathered or researched
- Write thorough, professionally formatted report of findings for use by both internal and external review that anticipates customer questions and explains all dimensions of the failure analysis findings based on sound root cause analysis practices; clearly explains all corrective action recommendations to solve the customers problem and improve Valiant equipment
- Communicate with customer (as needed) throughout failure inspection and correction in a manner that demonstrates creditability, highest level of customer service and builds a relationship
- Manage inventory of equipment from dismantle and failure review processes and determine appropriate disposition of re-usable parts and useless items
- Continuously seek to improve procedures and methods of dismantling failed equipment to increase efficiency of the process; make recommendations to improve equipment operations
- Lead regional safety initiatives and ensuring policies and procedures are followed regarding work procedures and safety requirements. Lead safety meetings and toolbox talks to keep safety awareness and concern at the highest levels
- Comply with Company policy and procedures, whether written or communicated verbally, including the instructions and directions from individuals in direct supervisory positions
EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma
- Certification on technical writing preferred
EXPERIENCE:
- At least 3 years’ experience in Reliability/DIFA roles within artificial lift required
- Experience in Root Cause Analysis (cause-effect, diagrams, FEMA, etc.) is required
- Supervisory experience is required
- Experience with horizontal pumping systems is preferred with respect to:
- System piping and valves
- Pump alignment and shimming
- NPSHr
- Experience in application engineering is preferred
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
- Advanced level communication skills, both oral and written; especially technical writing skills for compilation of understandable reports
- Advanced knowledge of quality control inspection
- Advanced ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Advanced knowledge of corrosion environment and effects on pump systems and compatibility of elastomers
- Advanced level problem solving skills
SUPERVISION GIVEN: This position directly supervises non-exempt employees.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Perform work which requires standing and walking the majority of the time, with fingering, handling feeling, eye-hand and eye-hand-foot coordination required
- Operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator
- Routinely perform work on computer for an average of 4-6 hours per day, when necessary
- Major reliance on vision abilities including near, far, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision
- Major reliance on hearing abilities
- Work extended hours whenever required or requested by management
- Capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work performed routinely in climate-controlled office environment, open manufacturing environment and outdoors in sometimes inclement weather
- May have moderate exposure to loud noise; moderate exposure to mechanical, electrical, and moving object hazards; and moderate exposure to odors, mists, dusts, oil/grease, dirt and gases typical of manufacturing environment
